What you have did for Indian Community - G.Palanivel

Datuk Seri G. Palanivel

Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), the only party that represent the Indian community in Barisan Nasional (BN) is going back to the drawing board – that is going back to where it started – new election to choose the right leaders. Established in August 1946, MIC is one of the oldest political parties of Malaysia and this is the first time the election of MIC is rejected by ROS.

As a long overdue 'wake-up' call for Party President G. Palanivel to strengthen the party as well as change his style of leadership and the call was the last straw for Palanivel to step up and reinvigorate the party or face continuous call from leaders and members to step down early.

Whose fault?

Palanivel seems weak and out of touch with the party members as well as the Indian community as they continue to have distrust towards Palanivel as party president to uplift their socio-economic status.

When Datuk Seri Samy Vellu (Former MIC President) passed the baton to Palanivel in October 2010, the party is already in disarray without direction and capable leadership. In fact, Palanivel does not even have a place to contest during GE13. But because of the title President of MIC Datuk S.K Devamany have to hand over his stronghold to G.Palanivel; however at the result ending with Palanivel won with a simple majority 420 votes.

Thus, the coming fresh party re-election which probably may be held around the corner will not see any changes in the party unless Palanivel and the rest of the party leadership but we still can’t see the importance of promoting younger set of leaders to lead.

G.Palanivel please let go the party for the bright future of Indian Community in our country.
